THE
HITCH BOX IS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE CONVENTIONAL SKI RACK
The
Hitch Box is a new concept in ski racks. The Hitch Box is more convenient
to use than roof top boxes and provides more security than conventional
ski racks. The Hitch Box will soon replace Thule, Yakima and Barrecrafter
ski racks. The Hitch Box rides behind your vehicle, at bumper height,
mounted in your 2" square trailer hitch.
The Hitch
Box does not restrict your tailgate. It
does not rob you of gas mileage. It does provide easy, ground level access
to your equipment. There are no injuries in the parking lot before the
day begins from climbing and stretching to get your skis out of the roof
top box. And no dropping the skis on your wife's head. It is the best
way to safely transport and protect your skis.
The HB 70.5
is designed for full size SUVs like Expeditions, Excursions, Escalades,
Yukons, Sequoias, Suburbans, and full size pick up trucks and vans. The
HB66 is designed for smaller vehicles like the Tracker and Rav4. The
HB70.5 will hold 6 pairs of 180cm skis. Snowboards and ski poles fit too.
The HB66 will hold 168cm skis. The HBE70.5 and HBE66 are just as long,
but they are only 15" wide. The HBE boxes will hold 4 pairs of skis.
All are constructed of 1/8" thick 3003 Brite aluminum tread plate. All
joints are continuously welded and the lid is gasketed to keep the road
salt off of your valuable equipment. The latch system has an integrated
key lock system. A stainless steel rod holds the lid in the open position.
